Except for the pagoda, this looks just like any Miami pigroast -- minus the Cubans!
Five people spent about an hour hauling all of the bricks on the spot. (The road stopped about a quarter-mile from the pagoda.)

“We calculated six hours of roasting,” Can der Linden says, “but after five hours the pig was well done. We kept it warm over the remaining coal waiting for our guests to arrive.”

The 72 party guests arrived at the site in 15 cars and a bus. Everyone gathered in the pagoda for a great feast.

“Everybody liked it,” Van der Linden adds. “The meat was wonderful and as you stated it came easily off of the bone. It was our first pig roast where no meat was left over!”

The guests arrive by wooden walkway.
Adding more coals.
Roaster set up and the pig is roasting away.

Preparing plenty of vegetables to go with the pig.

A party of 72 prepares to devour this pig -- in a Chinese pagoda, no less.

Ludo Van der Linden and the Beilun Barbecue Association organized a Cuban pigroast, Three Guys From Miami style -- in China!

Van der Linden, a Belgian, has lived in China for the last eight years. The city of Beilun, Ningbo City is located about four hours south of Shanghai. It is surrounded by mountains -- an ideal spot for a great pig roast.

“At four in the morning we loaded our Jeep with 48 concrete bricks, a 114-pound pig, and 110 pounds of coal,” says Van der Linden. “Half an hour later we arrived at the place we selected, a nice Chinese pagoda next to a lake.”

Three Guys From Miami will appear on Emeril Live sometime this fall -- possibly October or early November.

We take Emeril viewers on a video tour of Cuban food (and culture) in Miami.

Once we have a firm air date, we'll post it here on our site so that you can tune in and watch Emeril cook some great Cuban food!

Combine a great Cuban coffee maker with a great Cuban artist and what do you get? For one thing, you get a great cup of coffee. And the package is a work of art.

Vicky Westra started the Javámo Coffees in Tampa. Javámo is a family-owned business backed by three generations of experience in roasting and packing coffee. The great looking packages feature artwork by Miami artist Tony Mendoza. Your best bet? Drink the coffee and collect the packages.

We especially liked Café La Mañana in Havana!
