Now in its third year
More than two years after opening Mojitos & Tapas, Jackie Hitchcock and her mother Marylu have the joint hopping each week with special themed events. On a recent Tuesday night, the restaurant on the outskirts of Washington, DC was packed with customers in masks and funny hats for an evening of Mardi Gras fun. These events have helped the restaurant attract a loyal following.
“We also have "Friday Nite Socials," adds Hitchcock. “ Mojitos & Tapas is a place where sophisticated adults can meet, dance, drink, and socialize, every third Friday of the month.”
Of course, great food remains a big draw and Mojitos & Tapas is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
“We recently added a new service offering "food by the pound" for take-out,” Hitchcock says. “This has fast become a local favorite with working mothers in our area.”
"We may even be able to reach a younger audience," says Jorge Castillo. "That's an important factor as some of our fans are older than Raúl!"
"Facebook has more than 175 million users, and that’s a few more than we have now," adds Glenn Lindgren. “If we can just attract a million or so, we’ll really be popular!”
