Jorge Castillo: In Miami, we call this drink "La Mentira" -- the Lie.

Raúl Musibay: That's becuase there is no freedom in Cuba today. If you drink one, it's a nice gesture to make a toast: "Here's to a FREE and democratic Cuba!"

Cuba Libre - Rum and Coke


Cuba Libre

By Three Guys From Miami

Prep time: 5 minutes
Total time: 5 minutes
Yield: 1 drink

The classic rum and coke drink with a promise of a free Cuba.

INGREDIENTS:

6 ounces ice cold Coca-Cola
1 1/2 ounces rum
squeeze lime juice
1/4 cup ice cubes
1 lime twist
Pour rum in a tall glass. Fill with cold Coke, add a squeeze of lime juice and stir. Add ice and garnish with a twist of lime.
